About Doug Post
I am a Stanford Chemical Engineer and a Harvard MBA with a passion for technology and innovation. I have spent my career doing things I love: leading product teams, talking to customers and figuring out complex problems - mostly in the medical device and life science areas. My experience is a mix of leading programs at large companies, heading up start-ups and varied consulting experience. I bring an unusually broad, cross-functional experience to my work.
More recently, I've been involved in helping boards manage challenging situations as an interim executive. These situations are typically urgent and require speedy, sound decisions. I have brought value by working onsite, identifying the key issues, providing robust analysis and rapidly moving to executing a plan. My style is action-oriented, accountable, collaborative, technically diligent and customer-focused.
A recent engagement was in Atlanta, Georgia, where I was charged with closing down a 31-person orthopedics company, Maruho Medical Inc. In less than five months, I sold the product lines and physical assets, shut down operations and closed the company facilities. Lease obligations were a significant issue and I was able to reduce these by over 60%. I was able to do all this in a respectful, litigation-free manner.
My management style is high-touch and usually in-person. I can provide services onsite for extended periods and am able to work outside the Boston area. My associates are professionals I have worked with for many years. In my most recent engagement, it was necessary to replace the existing CFO and I brought with me a part-time, contract CFO that I worked with for many years.
